The Lancaster Bomber Set

Beginning work in late 2019 and throughout the following 3 years, Jamie designed and built a full and complete 1:1 scale replica Lancaster Bomber interior using reclaimed wood and scrap, and materials sourced and crafted from various hardware stores and online.Over 3 freezing cold winters and 3 hot dusty summers he worked alone, in a barn designing and building all 21 metres of this iconic WW2 Bomber, completely from scratch.. "It became my passion, my obsession, my joy and my despair".. with the mantra "build it and they will come" on permanent repeat in his head (they did!)

This bumpy, inspiring, hallowed journey allowed Jamie to hone his 3D planning and practical construction skills, and gave his business partner and Co-Producer the remarkable, Luke Campion (the writer/director of their film), the time he needed to write the script, develop storyboards and procure everything else they needed for this insanely ambitious feature film project..This movie is currently in post. Props & Costume Pieces

As well as the main Lancaster Bomber set itself, it was necessary for Jamie to craft numerous other authentic props and items to populate the plane and several other sets and locations featured in this film.

This included the development and creation of period-accurate costume pieces and uniform items, such as his Observer parachute harnesses, RAF flying boots, oxygen masks and flying goggles, working hard to keep the details as true to the era as possible.

In addition to his work on Goodtime Charlie, and indeed as a result of it, Jamie has had the privilege of working on several other exciting feature films.Most notably, he was employed as Production Designer, Set Designer, Set Builder and Prop Maker on Pinocchio Unstrung starring Richard Brake and Robert Englund, (with Todd Masters’ team bringing their amazing animatronic Pinocchio puppet to life).

For this production his biggest task was to design, plan and build Geppetto's Workshop and Laboratory sets in a large London basement (teasers can be viewed in the Gallery below and in the main Gallery of Work further down). More will follow when the film is released.He was also the Production Designer on Winnie the Pooh: Blood & Honey 2, and on Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare he was appointed as Assistant Production Designer.
